Shifting Shapes of Saintliness
Sandy Vrooman

Satin shapes scarociliacticly sliding sideways,
sanctifying stable sensations of saintliness.
Scrounged script of scrambled sensations swinging south
seeking to save the séance of a seasonable seduction.
Sequestered senses of serpents in serendipitous serenade
shoved sensibilities skyward.
Sepulchral sequins satirized the savoir-fair
of scantiness scandalizing sanctimonious satyrs.
Sadistic safety slings surrounded Sabbaths
of shifting soft sables in shoddy stables stinking of shit.
So swift the shallow sales-woman sought sanction
for sending salvos of samovars sailing on a sampan.
Some say satire stays sharp, but socialites seek subtle shifts in syntax.
Sheep swiftly settle in softness steeped subtly in similarities
saving salutations for steamed sauces and succulent stews.
Switch secured savings so salvation is saved for saints and sinners
same as swingers, swaggers, and sluts.
Saline, salt, saliva, semen secreted slowly in
selected situations separate from the
sameness of seduction, sadness and sanctity.
Stratify stupidly stubbed strong streptomycin stomachs in stride.
Surgical stenography semantically sifted the septic
and sorted stories of striving students in style.
Surf and salt systemically scoured sinners in syrup
sending synthetic sensations to syphilitic seminaries.
So sung the striated stun shrew in stucco shoes
and straightened spaghetti surcoat.
Save something for the soul.
